A special meeting of the President and Board of Trustees was called
to order by President A C. Bradt at 8 P.M, ` for the purpose of
accepting bid to construct new concrete.he,adwal; for-the West Side
Septic Tank and other matters which might be presented to.the Board:'
Roll call resulted as follows: Present Trustees Hinchsliff., King.,
Meintzer and Wilson. Absent Trustees Banfield and Peterson*,.
A motion was made- by Trustee Meintzer and . seconded by Trustee Hinchsliff
to accept the bid for.6978,00 of George Hardin Company.to construct
new concrete headwaIl for'the West Side Septic Tank with the provision
that the job be completed by September 15,, 1949*' Ayes all. Nays none.
Motion carried.'
A motion was made by Trustee King and seconded by Trustee Hinchsliff
to promptly remove the barricades on North Avenue., Ayes Trustees
Hinchsliff, ,King, Meintzer and Wilson. Nays none0'Motion.carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Hinchsliff and seconded by Trustee
Meintzer to instruct the President

the Planning Commission tAq_Laaw the Forest Park Subdivision Plat
in its present foxm, and to approve it if they__ see fit to do so,, the
Board having considered at aprevious meeting.th6 very minor: infractions
of the Code'which 'existed on the"Plat.'' Ayes Trustees.Hinchsliff.,King,,

• purpose of passing a resolution to authorize Trustee Wilson to attend
a meeting pertaining to the hearing on the rezoning of property in the
SW� of Section 17. the corner of Waukegan-and Half Day Roads and other
matters which might come before the Board. "Present. Trustees Banfield,,

• A motion was made by Trustee King and seconded by Trustee Hinchsliff to
pass the following resolution. .. Ayes Trustees Banfieldp.Hinchsliff.,

IGSOLVED that Trustee Clarence Wilsoft is hereby authorized
and directed to attend the hearing on the rezoning of the property in
the Southwest Quarter of Section 17,, the corner of Waukegan Road and
Half Day Road.,,and to present to those.conduc,ting the he�ring the.,
following resolution of the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield:
BE IT, AND Ir IS HEREBY., RESOLVED by-the President
arid.Board.of.Trustees of the ,Village Village of Deerfield
that it would.be against the best interests of
the residents of the Village of Deerfields who
are also tax payers of the county of Lake, if the
property at the intersection of Waukegan Road and
Half Day Road should be rezoned for commercial pur-
poses, in view of the following facts:

1. The municipalities near such property have
for many years zoned the property surrounding the
intersection of Waukegan-and Half-Day Roads fora
• long distance in all directions for uses other than
commercial purposes;
2. The property surrounding the intersection
of Waukegan Road and Half Day Road for a long dis-
tance in all directions is,presently devoted ex-
elusively to residential uses.
3. The section of the Village of Deerfield' -
nearest such intersection is devoted toxesidential
purposes,
• 4. It;is the plan of the. Village of Deerfield
to continue in the future to develop its property
-on Waukegan Road nearest Half Day Road as residential*
property.
Almotion was made by Truste a-Banfiel d,,'seconded by T rustee Wilson .'to
accept bid of Deerfield Construction Company amounting to $835.00 to
construct new concrete headvall, at West Side Septic Tank and to -:- - ,
retract previous resolution of Judy 25, 1949 which granted bid to
George Hardin Co. Those voting yes being Trustees Banfield,,' Hinchisliff,,
King,, Heintzer., Peterson and Wilson. Nays, none.
Discussion was held on obtaining two W_V,ridios for the Police vehicles
and-it.was,ouggested that this matter be brought up at the next meeting.
The amount of remuneration to be given the Village of Deerfield for
vacating alleys was discussed and this matter will also be discussed at
the next regular meeting.
