11 - October 8, 1946. The regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President Robert S. Alexander at 8 P. M. Roll call- Present- Trustee Bradt, Cazel, Scott, Stanger -. and Tennis.- Absent - Trustee Mercurio. The minutes of the regular meeting held•Sep.tember.10, 1946 -were read and approved. The request from the Sheridan Rifle and'Pistol Club- for-permission to use their rifle range tor shotgun shooting.prac- tice was referred to the Public Relations Committee. A plat of the Deerfield Idanor Subdivision was submitted, . to the Board for consideration and a motion was made by Trustee Cazel and seconded by Trustee Tennis that this plat be tenta- tively approved. Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas- Trustee Bradt, Cazel, .Scott,.Stanger and Tennis. Nays- None. Motion carried. Trustee Stanger made a motion which was seconded by Trustee Scott that the f ollowing•resolution be adopted; RESOLVEDi •'Chat the President and Board of Trustees,o.r having heard and considered the plans and proposals of western •Homes, Inc. , concerning property owned by it.lying adjacent to the easterly-limits of the Village of Deerfield and consisting.-of approximately 60 acres, as explained by its President, Lawrence L. Ellis and its Treasurer, James IT* Collins, hereby- .declare them -' selves to be receptive and willing to encourage the disconnection of this said propertyfrom the City of Highland Park and-the annexation of the same to the Village of- Deerfield; and that the preliminary plat of subdivision to be considered later be referred to the Planning Commission for a report as to the layout thereof to the Presidentand Board of Trustees after the question of annexation•has been determined one way or the other by the President and Board of Trustees as is by statute in such cases made and provided. Upon roll call the following vote was taken..:- Yeas - Trustee Bradt, Cazel, Scott, Stanger and Tennis. Nays- None. Motion carried. The following bills were read by Trustee Stanger and he made a motion which was seconded by.Tr ustee Cazel that these.. bills be paid, if, as$ and when -funds are available.- Motion unanimously carried. Notion carried. It was moved by Trustee Scott and seconded.by Trustee Cazel to accept the reports of Police Magistrate Hunt showing, ;28.00 and that of Justice of the Peace Reagan showing $2D.00 in fines collected during ,the month of -September,. 1946. Upon roll call the following vote was.taken. Yeas - Trustee Bradt, Cazel, Mercurio, Scott, Stanger and Tennis..:Nays- None. , , Motion carried. Motion made by Trustee,Cazel which was seconded"by Trustee Scott that.we authorize the purchase of an additional 4 Tons of Crack Filler. Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas- Trustee Bradt, Cazel, Mercurio,.Scott, Stanger and Tennis. Nays- None. Motion carried. Moved by Trustee Cazel tiiat.we purchase the snow ` plow-which is for sale by George Bock,,provided the same can be bought,at a, price cheaper than a new plow would cost us. This motion was seconded by Trustee Stanger. Upon roll call the following vote was taken..Yeas- Trustee Bradt, Cazel, Mercurio, Scott, Stanger and Tennis. Nays- None. Motion carried.. It was moved by. Trustee Tennis and seconded -by Trustee . Stanger that we approve the request of the Deerfiel8- Bannockburn Community Chest to allow the Chicago. Children's Benefit League to hold a tag day in the Village of Deerfield. Motion.unanimously carried., Those, voting "Aye" being Trustee Bradt, Cazel, Mercurio,.Scott, Stanger and Tennis.
