06/14/1954181 June 14, 1954 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Monday, June 14, 1954 at 7:30 P.M. The Clerk called the roll and reported that the following were Present: John D. Schneider, President Eugene F. Engelhard Hubert N. Kelley Joseph W. King Raymond.T. Meyer Harold W. Wynkoop Absent: Fred 0. Dicus ' and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. . On motion by Trustee Kelley, seconded by Trustee Engelhard, the minutes of the regular meeting held May 10, 1954 and the special meeting held May 20, 1954 were approved. Adopted by the following votes Ayes: Engelhard, Kelley, King,-Meyer, Wynkoop (5) Nays: None (0) The Police report submitted by Justice of the Peace Approve Reports George, showing 58 cases and fines of $486, was approved. The Health report submitted by Health Officer Esther Giss was approved and ordered placed on file. The report of the Plan Commission on the petition of Plan Commission_ Mr. Robert P. Nessler in regard to the proposed Garden Rft rt Apartment project was accepted. Trustee Meyer moved, seconded by Trustee Wynkoop, that the additional material furnished by Mr. Nessler be referred to-the Plan Commission, and arrangements be made -for an announcement in the Deerfield Review giving the-date of the meeting.at which the additional material would be considered. Carried- unanimously. The letter from Rice & Co., Chicago, requesting Communications information about improvements required by the Board in the undeveloped portion of Briarwoods Subdivision, was referred to Trustee Meyer, Chairman; Sewer and Water Committee. The proposed re- subdivision of Lots 5 and 6,•Block 6, Evergreen Place Subdivision, submitted by Paul Johnson, was referred to the Plan Commission upon payment of the required fee of $10.00. The letter from Mr. Norman Bronson regarding a disputed water bill, was referred to Trustee Meyer, Water Committee Chairman. The check for $39.00 from the Hartford Fire Insurance Co. in settlement of the claim for wind damage to the Municipal Garage was accepted. Easements giving access to the East side pumping station Authorize VillAFze were discussed briefly. Trustee Wynkoop moved, seconded Attorney -To Secure by Trustee Kelley, that the Village Attorney be authorized Easements to attempt to purchase the necessary easements across Lot 41, Brierhill Subdivision and the property owned by Mr. Frank Frable, and to report back to the Board of Trustees for the purpose of considering the institution of condemnation proceedings if necessary. Carried unanimously. Trustee Dicus entered the meeting and was present thereafter. The Clerk announced that there had been filed certain Open Bids - Sewer bids in response to the advertisement previously Improvement published in the Deerfield Review for the construction of the proposed sewer improvement. On motion made by Trustee Meyer, seconded by Trustee King, that the Clerk proceed to open and read the.bids, the Clerk thereupon opened and read the bids, which were as follows:. r4` It 183 A. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Brierhill Residents Objection to Route Mr. George Ebht, 406 Brierhill Road, stated the objections of residents of that street to the use of said street for construction of the east side pumping station. He stated that a committee had investigated other routes to the site. Mr. Thomas Nelligan, 560 Brierhill Road, then reported that a roadway through the properties owned by Messrs. Nickelsen and Perkins was considered practical, and that owners of the properties had been contacted, and had expressed no basic objection to the proposal. Mr. Baxter stated it was possible under the bids taken to make this change in route. Mr. Matthews suggested that the Brierhill Committee continue to negotiate with the property owners on the purchase price, and the route be surveyed by Baxter & Woodman. Trustee Dicus moved, seconded by Trustee Wynkoop, that the Authorize §1Zn21ures President and Clerk be authorized to sign an application ppl_ication for Permit for permit to construct an outlet into a tributary to the North Branch of the Chicago River for a sewage treatment plant. Carried unanimously. 184 . Trustee Wynkoop moved, seconded by Trustee Kelley, that Best Develol?nent Co. the Best Development Co.'s Subdivision be approved Subdivision Approved subject to the Village Engineer's estimated cost of improvements, and Bond or cash deing.deposited for said improvements, in accordance with the motion of the last meeting. Carried unanimously. Trustee Meyer moved, seconded by Trustee Engelhard, that -the Bid Bond of $1100 deposittd'by Kuch and Watson, successful bidder on the Waukegan Road water main extension, be returned. Carried unanimously. Trustee Meyer suggested that an Ordinance be prepared controlling water use in-the Village, and the Village Attorney was requested to prepare such an Ordinance. Trustee Engelhard moved, seconded by Trustee Meyer, that Authorize $250_— the Clerk be authorized to expend up to the estimated Microfilming, Records. $250 for microfilming Village records..Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Dicus, Engelhard, Kelley, King, Meyer, Wynkoop (6) Kays: None (0) A letter from Robert B.Dietsche, 1309 Cedar Lane, Warren Darling, 925 Hemlock, and Donald C. Johnson, 1303 Cedar Lane, requesting that Cedar Lane be dropped from the sewer and paving project in the Clavey subdivision, was ordered placed on file. There being no further business to come before the meeting, on motion by Trustee Engelhard, seconded by Trustee Wynkoop, the meeting was adjourned.
