The regular meeting of the president and Board of Trustees
of the
Village of Deerfield was called .to order by the President
Andrew G.
Bradt at 8 P. M..
Roll call - Present - Trustees Englehard, Hinchsliff, King, Meintzer,
Wilson and Wynkoop.
Since copies of the minutes of the regular meeting of
September 8,
1952, were previously sent to all members of the Board.of
Trustees,
the reading of the minutes of that meeting w44 dispensed
with upon
motion of Trustee ' lynkoop, which was seconded by Trustee Hinchsliff
and carried.
The following bills were read and it`was moved by Trustee
Wynkoop,
and seconded by Trustee Hinchsliff; that.these bills
be paid if, as
and when funds are available. '
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas - Trustee Englehard,
Hinchsliff,
King, Meintzer, Wilson and Wynkoop. Nays - none. Motion carried

rn Trustee Englehard reported ,on -the further consideration given to a
complaint by the residents in the Hoviland's Subdivision for street
improvements,` but reported, that'the.Road"and Bridge Committee could
find no justification.to recommend any other action.than: that pre-
viously offered, viz: that the residents pay for the gravel to be
used on the streets and the Village to spread it.
Upon the reading of a request from the Viking Realty Company for
extension of a permit for its sales office located at`.635 '"Taukegan
Road, it was moved by Trustee Meintzer, and seconded by Trustee
Wynkoop, that the present temporary permit expiring October 16, 1952,
be extended fir ono. year thereafter.
Roll call resulted as follows: Yeas all. Nays - none'.,= Motion
carried.
Upon the reading of a request from Robert.Bartlett Building C6rporation
for permission to use a home to be built on Lots 13 and 14 ih Block
30 in H. 0. Stone & Company's Addition as a temporary office, it was
moved by Trustee Meintzer, and seconded by Trustee Wynkoop, that a
temporary.permit be issued for that purpose.
Roll-call-resulted as - follows. Yeas.- all. -- -Nays - none. Motion � carried.
Upon being advised that the Deerfield Temple Association had smbmitte
a proposed lease for the garage adjoining the north side of the t�

Village Hall, it was agreed that since the Village's garage buildiag,t�; #t
presently under construction, will be completed in-the near future,;
the Deerfield Temple Association should,be notified of the Village's C
intention to vacate the garage leased from the Deerfield Temple
Association by the end of November, 1952•
It was moved by Trustee WynkooP, and seconded by Trustee Meintzer,
that a report by police Magistrate Dan Hunt showing $490.00�� fines
collected during the month of September, together with a check in
that amount, be received. 1
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas - all. Nays - none. Motion
carried.
Upon being advised that excise taxes paid by the Village on gasoline
and oil may be recovered for the past four years, it was moved by
Trustee Wilson, and seconded by Trustee Englehard, that the Treasurer
prepare all necessary papers for.that purpose, and that the Finance
Committee arrange an appropriate basis of payment for the necessary
time involved in doing so.
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas - Trustee Englehard, Hinchsliff,
King, Meintzer, Wilson and Wynkoop. Nays - none. Motion carried.
It was moved by Trustee Wynkoop, and seconded by Trustee King, that
the following resolution be adopted.
„BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE
oF.DEERFIELD -.that-the Plats and Enforcement. - Committee
of the Board of Supervisors be notified that the follow-
ing Cease and Desist Orders which it issued to.the National..
Brick Company are being violated:' Rs'

'(1) Cease and Desist order in .regard to the
digging of clay for, the, manufacture. of-_clay products
! from the north pirtion of ..the. property_ of the National
j Brick Company, which_Is..in violation of the present
Zoning ordinance;
(2)- Cease and Desist order in regard to the
dumping.of.garbage on the property of the National
Brick Company, which is in violation of the present
-, Zoning classification of the property in question.
And that the Board of Trustees go on record
as recommending the - immediate enforcement of these
orders:
