Trustee Neuman moved, seconded by Trustee Gavin, that the attorney
be directed to prepare an ordinance banning trucks over 12 ft. 2 in. in
height from Deerfield Road.
Motion carried unanimously.
Reports - Communications Trustee Moses stated he had received a
copy of a letter from a resident of
Clavinia. He asked that a_copy of the President's response to this and
similar letters be distributed to the Board.
Trustee Moses reported that agreements on the railroad station have
been prepared, and asked that this matter be put on the agenda for the next
m eeting.
The Village engineer stated the EPA is favorable for the construction
of package sewage treatment plants at the sewage treatment plant, and a draft
for financing these plants is being formulated for review by the Board.
Trustee Gavin reported she had attended a meeting on bicycle safety
in Winnetka. She suggested that Cook County be asked to give land on the
North side of Lake -Cook Road for a bike path extending west from Waukegan Road
to Wilmot Road. Trustee Neuman stated.more attention should be given to bike
paths since many more people are using bicycles. He suggested that a 10 ft.
strip be designated for bicycles on streets that carry heavy traffic. Trustee
Gavin pointed out that this action would take out parking, and suggested
the Village call a meeting of the Park Board and Schools to get some idea of
what plans should be made. She said the Secretary of State has become interested
and legislation is being proposed. The manager stated he would write to the
American Wheelmen for suggestions. Trustee Neuman suggested the Plan Commission
also be requested to look into this matter.
There being no further business, on motion by Trustee Moses and
seconded by Trustee Stiehr, the meeting was adjourned at 11:10 p.m.

The regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of the
Village Hall on Monday, May 6, 1974 at 8:00 p.m. The clerk called the roll and
reported that the following were
Present: Bernard Forrest, President
Absent: Norma Gavin
George Kelm
Walter H. Moses, Jr.
Werner E. Neuman
Daniel H. Stiehr
and that a quorum was not present. Trustee Moses entered the meeting at 8:10 p.m.
A quorum not being present, the meeting was adjourned at 8:12 p.m.
