Illinois Municipal League to Mr. Hamer. The League stated many municipalities use
tte sidewalk replacement program and they were not aware of any challenge of the
statute authorizing sidewalk replacement.
Approve Revised Plans Revised plans for right turn lanes at the north -
NEC Lake -Cook & Waukegan east corner of Lake -Cook and Waukegan Roads were
Right Turn Lanes presented. Trustee Brust moved, seconded by
Trustee Neuman, that the plans be approved,
and copies be sent to the Cook County Highway Department and Standard Oil Company.
Motion carried unanimously.
Trustee Kelm moved, seconded by Trustee Brust, that the complaint received
from Mrs. Mary Sayre be put on the agenda for the next meeting, and Mrs. Sayre be
invited to be present.
Motion carried unanimously.
Trustee ,,Slavin,moved,.,seconded by Trustee Neuman, that the meeting be adjourned
to Monday, September 13, 1971 at 8:00 p.m. in the Village Hall. Motion carried
unanimously, and adjournment was at 12:45 a.m.

The adjourned meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Deerfield was called to order by the President on Monday, September 13, 1971 at
8:30 p.m. in the Village Hall. The clerk called the roll and reported that the
following were
Present: Bernard Forrest, President
Charles R. Bootz
Albert E. Brust
George Kelm
Werner E. Neuman
Absent: Stephen M. Slavin
M. Jay Turner, Jr.
.and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Also present were
Messrs. Richard Houpt, Village attorney, and Norris Stilphen, manager.
Ordinance -St. & Bridge Trustee Brust moved, seconded by Trustee Bootz,
Tax Levy that the ordinance be passed authorizing an
(0- 71 -41) additional tax levy for street and bridge purposes.
Trustee Turner was present only to vote on the
ordinance which requires a vote by three - fourths of the Board of Trustees, which
was passed with the following vote:
Ayes: Bootz, Brust, Kelm, Neuman, Turner (5)
Nays: None (0)
The President signed the ordinance indicating his approval thereof.
Accept Bid Craftsmen Painting The manager reported he had checked with several
$4900 for Water Tank Painting municipalities on the quality of work performed
by _Craftsmen Painting Service, Inc. in painting
water tanks, and had been advised that the work was satisfactory.
Trustee Neuman moved, seconded by Trustee Kelm, that the low bid of $4,900
submitted by Craftsment Painting Service for painting the water tank be accepted.
Adopted by the following vote:

Ayes: Bootz,,Brust, Kelm, Neuman (4)
Nays: None (0)
Accept Pension Fund Audit The audit of the Deerfield Police Pension Fund
was received from the Illinois Department of
Insurance.
Trustee Bootz moved, seeonded by Trustee Neuman, that the audit be
accepted.
Motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business, on motion by Trustee Bootz and seconded
by Trustee Neuman, the meeting was adjourned at 8:37 p.m.
