The adjourned meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers
of the Village Hall on Wednesday, June 24, 1959 at 8 :00 P.M. The Clerk called
the roll and reported the following were
Present: G. E. Holmquist, President
Harold L. Peterson
Maurice C. Petesch
Arno D. Wehle
Absent: John F. Aberson
Joseph W. Koss

Approve Floral Gardens The Plan Commission recommended approval of the
Subdivision - plat of Floral Gardens Subdivision if agreement
was reached with School District #110 and St. Gregory's Church with respect to
financial aspects of the school and parking at the church. A letter d,ndicating
approval was received from Mr. Edwin White, St. Gregory's Church, and a copy
of the letter sent to Wilmot School District #1.10 by Mr. Weinrib, of Progress
Deveiopment Corporation, developer, agreeing to payment of $350 per house
upon occupancy, provided the house is not on the tax rolls at that time, was
also received. Trustee Peterson moved, seconded by Trustee Wehle, that the
plat of subdivision be approved, subject to receipt of a letter from the Wilmot
School Board indicating approval of the contribution by Mr. Weinrib, and subject
also to approval by Trustee Koss, Chairman of the Building, Zoning and Planning
Committee, and the said plat be executed: Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes:. Peterson, Petesch, Wehle, Holmquist (4)
Nays: None (0)
Ordinance Amending Water Trustee Petesch moved, seconded by Trustee Peterson,
Restrictions (0- 59 -37) that an ordiinance be adopted amending Ordinance 203,
providing for limitation of use of eater during
emergency periods, by prohibiting the use of water for sprinkling during periods
when the water pressure falls below 35 pounds at the Highland Park source, pro-
viding authoriziation for the Village Manager to notify residents of such action
by any available means, and setting forth penalties for violations. Adopted by
the following vote:
Ayes: Peterson, Petesch, Wehle, Holmquist (4)
Nays: None (0)
Attorney to Act An action having been filed against the Village in
Barancani Suit the matter of the alleged injury to Kimber Barancani,
Trustee Petesch moved, seconded by Trustee Peterson,
that the Village Attorney, Mr. Thomas Matthews, be authorized to represent the
Village in this suit.. Adopted by the folowing vote:
Ayes: Peterson, Petesch, Wehle, Holmquist (4)
Nays: None (0)
There being no.further business to come before the meeting, on motion by
Trustee Peterson, seconded by Trustee Petesch, the meeting was adjourned.

President Holmquist reported he had been notified

Koss who
was
in Springfield, that House Bill 1499 which was
opposed by the
Village, had
been
voted down in Committee by 10 - 3, which was
tantamount to
defeat in
the
Senate itself. This was accomplished through
the efforts of
Senator
Robert
McClory, with Trustee Koss appearing before
the Committee
as a spokeman
for
the Vi l -cage.
