RESOLUTION NO. R- 98 -21,_ .
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield, Illinois is a municipality exercising Home Rule
Powers pursuant to the Constitution of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Deerfield have previously directed
the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield by the adoption of Resolution R -98 -06 to conduct a
review of those portions of the Zoning Ordinance and the Subdivision Code of the Village of
Deerfield which deal with the subdivision or resubdivision of properties located within the corporate
limits of the Village of Deerfield legally described and depicted in Exhibit A attached hereto and
made a part hereof (the "Subject Area "); and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Deerfield wish to direct the Plan
Commission of the Village of Deerfield to conduct a review of those portions of the Zoning
Ordinance and Subdivision Code of the Village of Deerfield which relate to the development or
redevelopment of properties located within the Subject Area in cases other than routine maintenance
or reconstruction of properties damaged or destroyed by acts of God; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Village of Deerfield that no applications for
building permits for the purposes described in the preceding recital for properties within the Subject
Area be accepted pending the review of the Plan Commission's recommendations by the Corporate
Authorities,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERF'IELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS AS
FOLLOWS:
SEA That a moratorium be declared on the acceptance of applications for
ONE: building permits for the purposes of development or redevelopment of
properties within the Subject Area, except for routine maintenance or
reconstruction of properties damaged or destroyed by acts of God, pending action by the Corporate
Authorities on the above - described Plan Commission recommendation.
SECTION That said moratorium shall remain in full force and effect until rescinded by
—T M: action of the Corporate Authorities and, in any event, shall terminate on
November 30, 1998, unless extended by action of the Corporate Authorities.
