The regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Counbil
Chambers of the Village Hall on Wednesday, December 11, 1958 at 8 :OC P.M.

Resolution - Approving A notice of hearing was recived from Lake
Rezoning-- Private Club County Zoning Board of Appeals for a public
hearing on January 2, 1958 on a petition to
reaone approximately 10 acres south of Deerfield Road, abutting the East edge
of theToll Road, to F- Farming in order to request a special permit for a pri-
vate club. Trustee Koss moved, seconded by Trustee Brown, that the Board
authorize the use of the Village Hall without charge for said public hearing,
and that a resolution be adopted approving the requested rezoning and special
permit, as being in accordance with Village planning; and a copy of said
resolution be filed with the County Clerk and the Zoning Board of #ppeals.

Safety Council Recommendations Safety Council recommendations relating to a
speed survey and parking were referred to the
Street Committee.. Questions from residents regarding speeds on Village streets,
underpasses, and a walk on the East side of Waukegan Road from Notthwoods Drive
to Greenwood Avenue were referred to the Safety Council.
Committee for Fo ^eat Trustee Koss moved, seconded by Trustee Petesch,
Preserves - Use of Village Hall that the Citizens C&mmittee to Establish a
.Approved Forest Preserve District in Lake County be
authokized to use the Village Hall for one
meeting a month without charge, two weeks notice of such meetings required, and
the Village provide any assistance to the Committee which can be done without
cost to the Village.
Carried unanimously.
Mr. Charles Biggam's petition tor rezoning the former High School property
to Business District was referred to the Plan Commission for public hearing.
Authorize Attorney's Answer Trustee Koss moved, seconded by Trustee Peterson,
Summons - Gas Station that the Board authorize the Villa #e Attorney to
answer the summons in the Shell Gas Company case.
Carried unanimously.
Mrs. Willard Loarie requested that further public hearings be held
before acting on rezoning petitions for the area between Waukegan Road And the
Railroad tracks south of Central Avenue. She also requested that the Board
review the Village Manager ordinance. Trustee Wehle stated the Board would
review the ordinance with Mr. Owens, to see if any changes are desired.
Mr. Francis Carr requested that a Certificate of Occupancy be issued for
the new residence at 1051 Camille Avenue. The matter will be handled by the
Village.Manager, who stated there were difficulties with the builder.
On motion by Trustee Koss, seconded by Trustee Brown, and carried
unanimously, the meeting was ajourned to December 18,. 1957 at 8 :00 P.M. to
consider zoning petitions from Mr. Irl Marshall and others.
