The adjourned meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Deerfield was called to older by the President in the Council
Chambers of the Village Hall on Monday, May 27, 1957 at 8:00 P.M. The Clerk
called the roll and reported the 'following were

Absent: None
and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting.
The preliminary report by Mr. John Dunn, in charge of the special
census, showed Deerfield's population as 7607.
Appoint Larry Alexander Trustee Jaeger moved, seconded by Trustee
Public Works Dept. Brown, that Larry Alexander be appointed
to the Public Works Department as a
laborer at a salary of $335 per month. Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Koss, Peterson, Petesch, Wehle (6)
Nays: None (0)
Approve Payment - $150 Trustee Brown moved, seconded by Trustee
Triangle Sign Co. Koss, that payment of $150.00 be approved
to Triangle Sign Company for the Village
Hall sign. Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Koss, Peterson, Petesch, Wehle (6)
Nays: None (0)
Resolution - Bummer Schedule Trustee Wehle moved, seconded by Trustee
Village Hall Hours Jaeger, that the following resolution be
adopted: .
BE IT RESOLVED by the Fredent and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Deerfield, that:
Section 1. The'summer office hours of the Village of Deerfield,
Illinois, shall be:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:30 A.M. 5 :00 P.M.
Wednesday 8:30 A.M* - 12:00 Noon
Friday 8:30 A.M. - 9:00 P.M.
Closed Saturday and Sunday
Section 2. The summer office houre for the Village Hall as scheduled
above shall be effective June 1, 1957 through September 3, 1957.

Use of the Village Hall by civic groups was discussed, but no
decision was made as to charges and procedures.
President Holmquist reported that the liquor licenses held by Lieb-
schutz Liquor Company and Briargate Golf Club has been renewed.
A letter from Mrs. Charles Fargo was received regarding the construc-
tion of the North Avenue water main, and the possible loss of three trees
on their parkway as the result of this construction. Trustee Brown stated
he had investigated, and that measures could be taken to minimize the damage
to the trees.

President Holmquist requested that questions to consultants
retained by the Village be referred to members of the Board of Trustees.
Ordinance - De uty Treasurer- Trustee Wehle moved, seconded by Trustee
Collector 0- 23 -57) Koss, that an ordinance be adopted
defining the position of Deputy Treasurer -
Collector. Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Koss, Peterson, Petesch, Wehle (6)
Nays: None (0)
Ordinance - Village Clerk Trustee Wehle moved, seconded by Trustee
Collector (0- 24 -57) Petesch, that an ordinance be adopted
combining the positions of Village Clerk
and Collector and establishing the salary, effective May 1, 1957. adopted
by the following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Koss, Peterson, Petesch, Vehle (6)

President Holmquist made the following
re- appointments to the Plan Commission:

These appointments were approved by the Board.
There being no further business to come before the meeting,
on motion by Trustee Peterson, seconded by Trustee Koss, and carried
unanimously, the meeting was adjourned.
