No action was taken on the request of the Republican Womans'
Club for permission to use a sound truck on October 29, 1956.
Parking of commercial vehicles in residential areas was discussed
at length. Mr. Matthews stated the Zoning ordinance prohibited such parking,
but said an additional ordinance could be passed to clarify the question, in
which emergency vehicles could be exempted. Trustee Kelley suggested the
matter be studied.
On motion by,Trustee Jaeger, seconded by Trustee Meyer, the meeting
was adjourned.

November 5, 1956
A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield
was called to order in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Monday,
November 5, 1956 at 8:00 P.M., pursuant to notice of said meeting mailed to
each Trustee on October 30, 1956. The meeting was adjourned to the assembly
room on the second floor, and was reconvened. The Clerk called the roll and
reported the following were
Present: Joseph W. Brown
Martha White Clark
Carl J. Jaeger
Raymond T. Meyer
Maurice C. Petesch
Absent: John D. Schneider, President
Hubert N. Kelley
and that a quorum was present and in attendance.at the meeting.
On motion by Trustee Petesch, seconded by Trustee Brown, and carried
unanimously, Trustee Meyer was appointed President pro tem.
Trustee Kelley entered the meeting and was present thereafter.
Mr. Rupp, Village Manager, presented and read an ordinance zoning the
recently annexed property owned by Cosmopblitan National Bank to R-1 and R-2.
Mr. Joseph Herrmann, Linden Avenue, asked that the record show that he
was opposed to supplying water to new subdivisions and annexed territory until
such time as an adequate water supply is available for sanitary purposes and
fore protection. He stated he would notify his Fire Insurance Company and the
State Health Department regarding this water shortage.
Mrs. Willard Loarie requested the Board to table the zoning ordinance
until such time as the water supply avid distribution question is answered
satisfactorily.

Mr. Jack Cramer, Warrington Road, suggested the Board request
Highland Park officials to permit construction of a 20" water main to
supply Deerfield, and recommended that Greeley and Hansen be retained
to study Deerfield's water needs, since they had made a survey of Highland
Park's water system.
Ordinance - Rezoning to Trustee Clark moved, seconded by Trustee
Rrl R-2. Greenmont Sub. Jaeger, that the ordinance be enacted zoning
Greenmont Subdivision as R-1 and R-2 One-
family Residence Districts. Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Clark, Jaeger, Kelley, Meyer, Petesch (6)
Nays: None (0)
Trustee Petesch stated he voted Aye because he felt it was the
best possible development for the area.
Approve Tentative Trustee Clark moved, seconded by Trustee
Unit #2. Greenmont Subd. Jaeger, that approval be given the tentative
plat of Unit #2, Greenmont Subdivision, to
Mr. Vernon Sherman for a six month period, provided the final plat is in
conformity with the tentative plat of subdivision, and subject to payment
of fees and posting bond to cover the cost of the improvements required by
Village ordinances. Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Clark, Jaeger, Kelley, Meyer, Petesch (6)
Nays: None (0)
Approve Improvements Trustee Clark moved, seconded by Trustee
Unit #1. Greenmont Sub. Jaeger, that the remainder of the improve-
ments in Unit #1, Greenmont Subdivision be
approved, subject to posting proper bond with the Village of Deerfield with-
in six months to cover the cost of such improvements. Adopted by the
following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Clark, Jaeger, Kelley, Meyer,.Petesch (6)
Nays; None (0)
President pro tem Meyer stated, in answer to a question from the
floor, that sewer and water facilities VePe considered in connection with
the rezoning and annexation of the @reenmont Subdivision.
On motion by Trustee Jaeger, seconded by Trustee Kelley, grid
carried unanimously, the meeting was adjourned. /
