The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of
Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of
the Village.Hall on Monday, July 9, 1956 at 0:00 P.M. The Clerk called the
roll and reported the following were

and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting.
Minutes of the regular meeting held June 11, 1956, the special meeting
held June 18, 1956, and the adjourned meeting held.June 25, 1956 were approved.

Approve Rpnorts The Police report for June submitted by Chief of
Police Peterson, showing 87 cases and fines of
$568.00, was approved. The report of Building Commissioner John Hooper was
approved. The Health report submitted by Health Officer Esther Giss was
approved.

The Plan Commission recommended approval of the
Dowdall- Finney Subdivision. Trustee Clark moved,
seconded by Trustee 1`1eyer, that the Board give

date of approval, and making necessary corrections

Communication re: & letter from Mr. J. Robert York was read, in
Water SuRRIY which he asked the Board to consider stopping the
issuance of Building permits until an adequate
water supply is available. Mr.Rupp, Village Manager, stated the City of
Highland Park was considering permitting the construction of a new 10 inch

main for Deerfield, and had retained Greeley and Hanson to make a survey
of the Water Distribution System.
The Village Manager was directdd to acknowledge Mr. York's letter.
Authorize $500 - Workmen's
Compensation Insurance
of $500.00 be authorized:

Trustee Jaeger moved, seconded by Trustee Petesch,
that the Workmen's Compensation Insurance Policy
be renewed, and the payment of the initial premium

Extend Bid Date Trustee Meyer moved, seconded by Trustee Brown,
Village Hall -July 23 that the time for receiving bids for the constru-
ction of the Village Hall be extended to July 23,
1956, as requested by contractors, and all bidders be notified of the extension
of time; bids already received to be returned to the bidder, or retained with
his consent. Adopted by the following vote:

Marshall Rezoning Report The Plan Commission recommended denial of the
Received petition of Mr. Irl Marshall to rezona property
on Waukegan Road to M- Manufacturing. Trustee
Clark moved, seconded by Trustee Petesch, that the Plan Commission report be
received and filed, and await further investigation before final action is
taken. Adopted by the following vote:

Authorize Land Study President Schneider read a letter from Stanton
Stanton & Rockwell and Rockwell regarding the area for which rezoning
has been petitioned. Trustee Meyer moved, seconded
by Trustee Clark, that Stanton and Rockwell be directed to make a complete
study of the area between Central Avenue and County Line Road, and Waukegan
Road and the Railroad tracks. Adopted by the following vote:

Authorize Sewer Plans & Mr. Rupp stated Baxter add Woodman had completed
Specs.- Baxter & Woodman a preliminary survey of the Arbor Vitae area sewers.
Trustee Meyer moved, seconded by Trustee Petesch,
that Baxter and Woodman be authorized to proceed with plans and specificati6ns
for sewers to correct the Arbor Vitae, Cedar - Juniper and Deerpath areas
pollution problem, with final prollems to be worked out. Adopted by the
following vote:

Trustee Meyer stated chlorine was being put in the drainage ditch in
places where pollution is occurring.
Mr. Rupp, Village Manager, stated the State had been requested to erect
a stop sign at Pine Street and Deerfield Road. He reported parts for tie traffic
light had been received, and the light would-be placed in operation. He stated
Clarence Pedersen was Township Weed Commissioner, and should be notified on
complaints about weeds.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, on motion by
Trustee Jaeger, seconded by Trustee Brown, the meeting was a journed to 8 :00 P.M.,
Monday, July 16, 1956.
