The adjourned meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield
was called to order in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Monday, May
2'3, 1955 at 8 :00 P.M. On motion by Trustee Brown, seconded by Trustee Petesch,
Trustee Kelley was appointed President pro tem. The Clerk called the roll and
reported the following were

Raymond T. Meyer
Maurice C. Petesch
Absent: John D. Schneider, President
Martha White Clark
and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting.
Rules were suspended to allow comments and questions from the floor.
The following corrected bills were presented:

Trustee Petesch moved, seconded by Trustee Jaeger, that the corrected bills be
approved for payment. Adopted by the following vote:

Approve Payments - Trustee Jaeger moved, seconded by Trustee Petesch,
such & Watson,,, Ward Bros., that the following payments be approved:

Trustee Clark entered the meeting and was present thereafter.

Trustee Meyer moved, seconddd by Trustee Brown,
Authorize Viti Contract that the President be authorized to sign the
contract with Kuch & Watson in the amount of
$6,942.50 for the Viti water main extension. Adopted by the following vote:

Bids were received from Litsinger Motors and Holmes
Purchase Police Car - Motors for a police patrol car as follows:

Trustee Petesch moved, seconded by Trustee Meyer, that the police patrol car
be purchased from Litsinger Motors, at their bid price of $1,412.00, including
specified equipment. Adopted by the followi#g vote:

At the request of the Bonding company, Trustee Jaeger moved, seconded by
Trustee Clark, that the resignation of Earl F. Paul, Village Treasurer, be
accepted with regret, eff ective 12:00 Midnight, April 30, 1955, and that
Leslie H. Acox be appoi =nted Village Treasurer effective 12 :01 A.M., May 1, 1955.
Carried unanimously.
Trustee Petesch moved, seconded by Trustee Brown, that
Authorize Signature Carl J. Jaeger, Chairman, Finance Committee, be
Carl Jaeger authorized to sign Village of Deerfield checks in
the absence of the Village President.
.Carried unanimously.
Trustee Clark moved, seconded by Trustee Jaeger, that a
Authorize House permit be issued to Mrs. Frances Christy to move and
Moving Permit locate a house in Deerfield providing insurance
covi§ring $50,000- 100,000 liability, $10,000 property
damage, ,300.00 cash bond, and the necessary fees and permits are paid.
Carried unanimously.
Problems of street extensions through the purchase of lots were discussed
at length. The Village Manager was directed to arrange a meeting with Kincaid
& Associates in,order that Board members might get the benefit of his planning,
for street extensions.
Trustee Meyer moved, seconded by Trustee Brown, that
Clean Up Week June 7 - 11 be proclaimed Clean Up week, and that
the Village Manager be directed to work out a
schedule for pick ups in the various sections of the Village. The Editor of
the Deerfield Review agreed to cooperate in publicizing the schedule.
Carried unanimously.
Trustee Meyer moved, seconded by Trustee Jaeger,
Return Bid Bond that the Clerk return the $3000 bid bond furnished
by E. A. Meyer Paving Co. in connection with the
Special Assessment improvement of Elder Lane and Cherry and Somerset.
Carried unanimously.
Trustee Meyer moved, seconded by Trustee Jaeger,
Authorize Preparation that the Village Attorney be directed to draw an
Ordinance - Bonds ordinance providing for an election for a bond issue
for Village Hall to construct a Village Hall.
Carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, on motion
duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned.
