Re: Golf Ball Barrier Netting System for Briarwood Country Club — Deerfield, IL
Dear Mr. Watson:
In response to your request today, we have enclosed Engineering Calculations to be
submitted on behalf of your customer for a netting system to be installed in Deerfield,
Illinois. We used 80 MPH — Exposure C wind condition with 200# Soil Allowable
Strength [Ibs /sq.ft/ft] with the steel poles installed 50 Ft. on centers. When your order is
placed with our company we will provide engineering drawings and calculations with an
Illinois Structural Engineering Seal & Signature to submit to the local Building
Department`:; for the required permits.
We also enclosed the Technical Data Sheet for STRYK 5388 FACS Flexible Anti -
Corrosion System used for the finish on Coastal Steel Poles. STRYK Coatings are
applied to the steel poles as a three -coat application process. Along with the corrosion
resistant properties STRYK has elasticity to prevent "cracking" with pole defection in
strong wind conditions. STRYK is the same product used to coat the Alaskan Pipeline.
We look forward assisting you in questions or changes for this project.
Respectfully: submitted,

COAS'T'AL STEEL POLE FINISH

STR YK 5388 FA CS
Flexible Anti - Corrosion System
Technical Bulletin
STRYK 5388 FACS is a single component; corrosion retardant coating that imparts
flexibility, impact resistance and excellent weatherability. It also demonstrates a high
degree of impermeability to moisture and will adhere to difficult substrates. STRYK
5388 FACS will not support fungal growth, making it suitable for high humidity and
water- immersed environments. Unlike epoxy coatings, STRYK 5388 FACS will not
crack due to extreme cyclic expansion and contraction, cryogenic temperatures or
deteriorate due to ozone and ultraviolet attack.
When applied on metallic substrates, it forms an impermeable coating that prevents
moisture and oxygen form producing corrosion or oxidation. As a secondary mechanism,
STRYK 5388 FACS utilizes a novel anticorrosion filler that interfaces with the substrate
in the molecular level thus inhibiting metals from corroding even when the coating has
been breached or damaged. It has been successfully used in numerous surface treatment
applications such as metal pipes, structural steel, exterior tank. coatings and cryogenic
applications. A single coat (roller applied) will yield approximately 5 mils dry film
thickness.
