AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 0 -91 -47 IMPOSING
A SURCHARGE FOR THE 911 EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SYSTEM
WHEREAS, on November 4, 1991, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Deerfield
adopted Ordinance No. 0 -91 -47 imposing a surcharge for the 911 emergency telephone system; and
WHEREAS, Section Eleven of said Ordinance No. 0 -91 -47 pertains to the appointment of
an Emergency Telephone System Board; and
WHEREAS, Section 15.4(a) of the Emergency Telephone System Act (50 ILCS Act 750)
has established new requirements for membership on the Emergency Telephone System Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section Eleven of Ordinance No. 0 -91 -47 be and is hereby repealed and
ONE: that the following be substituted in lieu thereof:
"The President and Board of Trustees, the Police Chief of the Deerfield
Police Department, the Deputy Chief of Administrative Services of the
Deerfield Police Department and the Fire Chief of the Deerfield -
Bannockburn Fire Protection District are hereby appointed as the Emergency
Telephone System Board and shall have all powers and responsibilities of the
Emergency Telephone System Board as imposed by the Act and hereunder."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this Ordinance in
TWO: pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
THREE: approval and publication as provided by law.
