AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A
SPECIAL USE IN P -1 PUBLIC LANDS DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield has
heretofore held a public hearing on the application of the
Deerfield Public Library (herein referred to as "Applicant ") to
authorize the development and use of certain real estate described
on Exhibit A attached hereto and zoned in the P -1 Public Lands
District, for a Special Use to permit the construction of a ground
identification sign in accordance with the applicable provisions
of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield except as to
an encroachment in the required front yard permitting the proposed
sign to be located eight feet from the property line; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was held pursuant to duly published
notice thereof and was, in all respects, held according to law; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission has recommended approval of said
application; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Deerfield have determined that the best interests of the Village
will be served by the authorization and granting of said Special
Use in accordance with the plans and exhibits prepared by White Way
Sign Company and dated March 26, 1990 and presented by Applicant
and marked Exhibit B and attached hereto and made a part hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the President and Board of Trustees do hereby
ONE: affirmatively find that the Special Use, as hereby
authorized, fully complies with the requirements and
standards set forth in the applicable provisions of the Village
Zoning Ordinance, and the Special Use of the real estate, as and
for the purposes of the construction of a ground identification
sign as set forth on Exhibit B, be and the same is hereby
authorized and approved subject to the conditions hereinafter set
forth.
SECTION That the approval and authorization of the Special

all use, construction and development of the Subject
premises shall be in accordance with a certain plan prepared by
White Way Sign Company and dated March 26, 1990 and marked Exhibit
B, attached hereto and made a part hereof, all other documentary
and exhibit filings made pursuant to the Special Use provisions of
the Village Zoning Ordinance, the terms of this Ordinance except

all representations by the Applicant to the Plan Commission and
President and Board of Trustees.
SECTION That any violation of any of the conditions
THREE: hereinabove set forth shall authorize the revocation
of the Special Use hereby authorized.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish
FOUR: this Ordinance in pamphlet form and see to its
recordation in the office of the Recorder of Deeds
of Lake County, Illinois at Applicant's expense.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and

publication, as provided by law.
