ORDINANCE NO. 0 -86 -3
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING MODIFICATION FROM THE SIGN
PROVISIONS OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE WITH RESPECT TO THE PROPERTY
COMMONLY KNOWN AS 700 and 800 LAKE -COOK ROAD, DEERFIELD, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, MARRIOTT CORPORATION has petitioned for a modification from the
strict provisions of Article 9 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of
Deerfield passed April 17, 1978, as amended, to permit an additional double -
faced illuminated sign of 24.7 square feet per face located on a lot not
containing the principal use; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to notice duly published, as required by statute,
a public hearing on said petition was held and conducted by the Zoning Board
of Appeals of the Village of Deerfield; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has filed with the President and
Board of Trustees its written findings of fact and recommendation:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the findings of fact and recommendation of the
ONE: Zoning Board of Appeals recommending approval of the
petition are adopted by the President and Board of
Trustees.
SECTION That the President and Board of Trustees find that
TWO: unnecessary or undesirable circumstances would result
from carrying out the strict letter of the provisions
of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield as applied to
Petitioner's property, which is legally described on Exhibit A attached
hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION That a modification from the strict provisions of
THREE: Article 9 of the.Zoning Ordinance of the Village of
Deerfield, passed April 17, 1978, as amended, with
respect to the property hereinabove described is hereby granted so as to
permit an additional double -faced illuminated sign of 24.7 square feet
per face located on a lot not containing the principal use, all in accordance
with the design, plans and specifications presented by the Petitioner to
the Zoning Board of Appeals and the President and Board of Trustees.
SECTION That the modification hereby granted is subject to the
FOUR: condition that said sign shall be removed from Petitioner's
property at the earlier of (a) the completion of the
Pfingsten Road extension north of Lake -Cook Road or (b) January 1,1987.

SECTION That the modification hereby granted is subject to
FIVE: compliance by the Petitioner with all other applicable
provisions of the Zoining Ordinance and with all other
applicable ordinances of the Village of Deerfield.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
SIX: from and after its passsage and approval, as provided
by law.
