AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 9 OF THE
ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield has
heretofore held a public hearing on the application of LaSalle
National Bank, as Trustee under the provisions of a Trust Agreement
dated June 21, 1984, and known as Trust No. 108870 and LaSalle
National Bank, as Trustee under the provisions of a Trust Agreement
dated June 21, 1983, known as Trust No. 106579, and Tollway North
Land Venture, an Illinois general partnership, and Tollway North
Office Center, an Illinois general partnership, to consider a
certain text amendment to those portions of the Zoning Ordinance
pertaining to signage requirements for building identification -
ground signs included in the Planned Unit Developments located in
the I -1 Office, Research and Restricted Industrial District; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was held pursuant to duly published notice
thereof and was, in all respects, held according to law; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield, after
considering the evidence adduced, made written findings of fact in
favor of the proposed text amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of the
Village of Deerfield; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Deerfield have determined that the recommendations of the Plan
Commission as to the proposed text amendment will serve the best
interests of the Village of Deerfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Article 9 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village
ONE: of Deerfield, as amended, be and the same is further
amended by deleting Article 9.2 -3,2 in its entirety
and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"2. a. Industrial Park Signs - Building
Identification - Frontage
One additional ground sign on each street
frontage, other than those signs permitted
and regulated in Article 9.2 -3,1 above and
those signs as permitted and regulated in
Article 9.2 -3,5 pertaining to a hotel as part
of a Planned Unit Development in I -1 Office,
Research and Restricted Industrial District.

(1) Content.
Such signs shall advertise only the name and
location of such industrial park and the name
and type of business.of each occupant of the
park.
(2) Area.
Such signs shall have no more than two (2)
exposed faces with a gross surface area per
face not greater than one hundred (100)
square feet.
(3) Location.
The permitted industrial park signs may be
located in any required yard, but shall be at
least ten (10) feet from any lot line.
(4) Height.
The permitted industrial park signs shall not
project higher than twenty -five (25) feet
above curb level.
2. b. Industrial Park Signs - Building
Identification - Interior
One building identification ground sign for
each building located within an I -1 Office
Research and Restricted Industrial District,
Planned Unit Development, shall be permitted.
(1) Area.
Such signs shall have no more than two .(2)
exposed faces with a gross surface area per
face not greater than twenty -seven (27)
square feet.
(2) Location.
Such signs shall not be located within the
perimeter setbacks of the industrial park.
(3) Height.
