AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO A
SPECIAL -USE INDUSTRIAL PLANNED DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield has
heretofore held a public hearing on the application of AMERICAN
NATIONAL BANK AND TRUST COMPANY OF CHICAGO, as Trustee under Trust
Nos. 55233,57710, 57610, 57660, 57661 and 58078, Owner (hereinafter
referred to as "Applicant ") to consider an amendment to the existing
Special Use of the Subject Property identified on Exhibit A attached
hereto, which Special -Use Industrial Planned Development was
previously approved pursuant to Ordinance 82 -27 to permit a travel
agency within said development pursuant to Article 6- 1.3,2,b,(1),(b)
of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was held pursuant to duly published notice
thereof and was in all respects held according to law; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Deerfield have determined that the recommendations of the Plan
Commission as to permitting the proposed travel agency on the
Subject Property as part of the Special -Use Industrial Planned
Development should be complied with.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the President and Board of Trustees do hereby
ONE: affirmatively find the Amended Special Use permitting
Applicant to include a travel agency as set forth in
Article 6- 1.3,2,b,(1),(b) of the Zoning Ordinance, as amended, of
the Village of Deerfield, as hereby authorized, fully complies with
the requirements and standards set forth in Article 13.11 -4 of the
Village Zoning Ordinance, and the Amended Special Use of the real
estate, as and for purposes of an Industrial Planned Unit Development
as set forth on Exhibit B, be and the same is hereby authorized and
approved.
SECTION That all use, construction and development shall be in
TWO: accordance with the conditions as set forth in Article
6- 1.3,2,b,(1),(b) of the Zoning Ordinance, as amended,
of the Village of Deerfield, the terms of this Ordinance and all
representations by the Applicant to the Plan Commission and President
and Board of Trustees.
SECTION That any violation of the condition hereinabove set
THREE: forth by the Applicant or its successors, grantees,
transferees or assigns shall authorize the revocation
of the Amended Special Use granted hereby.

SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish
FOUR: this Ordinance in pamphlet form and to record said
Ordinance and Exhibit B in the officer of the Recorder
of Deeds of Lake County, Illinois at Applicant's expense.
SECTION That except to the extent specifically amended hereby,
FIVE: all provisions of Ordinance No. 82 -27 shall remain in
full force and effect and all undertakings of the
Applicant or its successors, shall remain in full force and effect
as if fully restated herein.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
SIX: from and after its passage, approval and publication,
as provided by law.

You have requested a description of the operation of
Nortown 'Travel Services, Inc., in connection with the application
of Lake Cook Office Development Company (Buildings One
through Four) for approval of a Special Use to be considered
by the Plan Commission on Thursday, March 13, 1986.
Nortown is a travel agency which has been in business
for more than-50 years, nearly 40 of which have been at its
current location along Devon Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.'
Nortown's services include domestic, international, commercial
and vacation travel arrangements. Nortown seeks to relocate
its offices to Lake Cook Office Centre in Deerfield in
order to better serve and to enhance its corporate and
commercial clientele.
Nortown's projected operations at Lake Cook Office
Centre can generally be divided into the following areas:
(l)-walk-in business 'which is conducted primarily for the
benefit of the tenants of the Lake Cook Office Centre, and
(2) business which is transacted largely by telephone, mail
and messenger delivery service with commercial and corporate
clients and with certain non - corporate clients (who consist
primarily of families Nortown has serviced for many years).
Nortown expects to lease approximately 1775' gross
square feet of office space in Lake Cook Office Centre. Its
office will contain no meeting or conference space for clients 041
and no signs identifying the use will be installed outside -11
the Lake Cook Office Centre buildings. Between five and NI
seven full time employees are expected to staff the office.
