AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 9, SECTION 2 -102 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF
DEERFIELD, LAKE- AND'_'COOK.'000NTIES,- ILLINOIS, 'AS- FOLLOWS.:
SECTION That Section 2 -102 entitled "Establishment of Police Depart -
ONE: ment; personnel." of Article 9 of the Municipal Code of the
Village of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be and the same is
further amended by deleting said section in its entirety and substituting the
following:
"Sec. 2 -102. Establishment of Police Department; personnel.
(a) There is hereby created a Police Department, an
administrative department of the Village.
(b) The Police Department shall consist of the Chief
of Police, who shall be ex- officio Village Marshal,
one (1) Lieutenant, eight (8) Sergeants, twenty -three
(23) Patrol Officers and such other employees'as may
be provided for from time to time by the President
and Board of Trustees. The Chief of Police may appoint
two (2) of the aforementioned Department members as
Deputy Chiefs and six (6) of said Department members as
Commanders in the manner provided in Section 2.105."
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
TWO: herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this
THREE: Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
FOUR: from and after its passage, approval and publication as
provided by law.
