A RESOLUTION OBJECTING TO AN APPLICATION FOR A
SPECIAL USE PERMIT PURSUANT TO THE COOK COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Appplicant, pursuant to Docket No. 3615, has petitioned the
Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook County to consider a Special Use of its pro-
perty described in said Docket No. 3615 to construct a restaurant in the C -7
Office and Research District; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook County has conducted a hearing
on said application; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Special Use would affect an area of unincorporated
Cook County lying adjacent to and within one - and - one -half miles of the corpor-
ate limits of the Village of Deerfield, a zoned municipality; and
WHEREAS, The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield
are of the opinion that the granting of said application would be contrary to
the best interest of the Village of Deerfield and of the.community, generally,
in that the proposed Special Use would result in the development of Applicant's
property without regard to the character of and compatibility of surrounding
or nearby properties, particularly the substantial residentially zoned and
used areas of the Village of Deerfield, would attract the traffic, noise,
congestion and other accompanying undesirable features of such a land use,
would permit construction of a restaurant on a lot of insufficient size to
support the required septic system and would be contrary to the Residential
Use called for by Deerfield's Comprehensive Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the Village of Deerfield, pursuant to Chapter 34, Section
ONE: 3158, Illinois,Revised Statutes 1979, hereby protests and objects
to the granting by the Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook County of
the relief requested in Docket No. 3615.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified
TWO: copy of this Resolution to the Cook County Zoning Board of
Appeals, the Board of Commissioners of Cook County and the County
Clerk of Cook County, and to counsel for the Applicant.
