AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 22 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF DEERFIELD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF
DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 22 -101 of Chapter 22 of the Municipal Code
ONE: of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be and the same is
hereby further amended by striking said Section in its
entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"22 -101. Truck Traffic Restrictions.
(a) Definitions.
1. A truck, as used in this Section, shall mean any vehicle de-
signed for the transportation of property.
2. A class of trucks shall mean any group of trucks which herein-
after may be classified.by weight, height, length or width or
other common characteristic.
(b) Prohibited truck traffic.
(i) It is unlawful to operate a truck in excess of a Gross Weight,
including vehicle and maximum load, of 10,001 pounds on any of the
streets or parts of streets located within the corporate limits of
the Village of Deerfield with the exception of Lake -Cook Road and
Waukegan Road, and with the further exception that the operation of
otherwise prohibited trucks on any street in the Village shall be
permitted where necessary to reach a destination point within the
Village in order to make a delivery or a pick -up of goods.
(ii) It is unlawful to operate a truck in excess of 12 feet in
height on Deerfield Road between the westerly corporate limits of
the Village and Waukegan Road when the point of destination of said
truck is on the far side of the Chicago, St. Paul & Milwaukee Rail-
road underpass from the point of entry onto Deerfield Road.
(c) Signs.
The Village Manager shall cause adequate signs to be posted giving
notice of such restrictions on truck traffic as are hereinabove
provided."
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here
TWO: with are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this
THREE: ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
FOUR: and after its passage, approval and publication as provided
by law.
