A RESOLUTION OBJECTING TO THE PROPOSED
COOK COUNTY ZONING MAP FOR NORTHFIELD TOWNSHIP
WHEREAS, the Cook County Zoning Board 'of Appeals has under- ,
taken a comprehensive updating of the Cook County Zoning Ordinance
and,
WHEREAS, said comprehensive updating includes proposed
amendments to the text and maps of the Cook County Zoning Ordinance;
and,
WHEREAS, said proposed amendments if adopted would change
the zoning classification of certain properties, hereinafter referred

to as the-Subject Property, located in Northfield Township, south
of Lake -Cook Road, west of Pfingsten_Road; and North of the Edens
Spur to the Tri -State Tollw -ay, from the present R -3 Single - Family

Residence District to the proposed I -1 Restricted Industrial District;
and
WHEREAS,_ the Subject Property lies within one - and - one -half
miles of the corporate limits of the Village of Deerfield and is,
in fact, adjoined and surrounded on three sides by the corporate
limits of the Village of Deerfield; and,
WHEREAS, one of the properties included in the area is
served by water and sanitary sewer facilities by the Village of
Deerfield; and,
WHEREAS,.the Subject Property is situated directly across
Lake -Cook Road from a single - family residential area of the Village
of Deerfield; and,
WHEREAS, - the President -and Board -of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield are of th,e opinion that the change of zoning
classification for the Subject Property to the.I -1 Restricted
Industrial District as proposed by the Cook County Zoning Board of

Appeals would be contrary to the best interest of the Village of
Deerfield and of the community generally, for the following reasons:
1. That development -of the Subject.Property under
the proposed I -1 Restricted Industrial District
would materially increase traffic congestion
and create unsafe traffic conditions.
2. That development of the Subject Property
under the proposed_I -1 Restricted Industrial
District would adversely affect property
values in the area for existing permitted
uses, especially the single family residential i
area just to the north of the Subject Property
across Lake -Cook Road. I
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That.the Village of_ Deerfield, pursuant to
ONE: Chapter 34, Section 3158, Illinois Revised
Statutes 1973, hereby proteAts and objects
to the adoption of the proposed rezoning of the Subject Property
from the R -3 Single- Family Residence District to the proposed I -1
Restricted Industrial District.
SECTION- That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
TWO: forward a certified copy of this -Resolution
to the.--Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals, the
Board of Commis.sioners of Cook C.ounty and the County Clerk of Cook
County.
