RESOLUTION NO. 2022- R-22-78
A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE PURCHASE OF MULTIPLE VEHICLES FROM
RAYMOND CHEVROLET AND BILL STASEK CHEVROLET
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield ("Village') is a home rule municipality in
accordance with Article VII, Section 6 of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 2022-47, the Village Board granted the
Village Manager the authority to approve the purchase of vehicles within budgeted
amounts without the need to obtain additional Village Board approval; and
WHEREAS, the Village Manager identified the need to purchase two 2023
Chevrolet EUV Bolts ("Vehicles') to be used as administrative vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the Village purchased one vehicle from Raymond Chevrolet of Antioch,
Illinois ("Raymond'), and the second vehicle from Bill Stasek Chevrolet of Wheeling,
Illinois ("Stasek'); and
WHEREAS, both vehicles were within the amount budgeted by the Village for the
purchase of vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the Village Board has determined that it will serve and be in the best
interest of the Village and its residents to ratify the purchase by the Village Manager of the
Vehicles, one from Raymond for the amount. of $37,909.24, and one from Stasek for the
amount of $39,704.24; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 9-16 the "Municipal Code of the Village of
Deerfield, Illinois, 19 75," as amended ("Village Code's, the bidding requirements may be
waived for contract~ for supplies and services available from a single source or, which by
their nature, are not adaptable to competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the Village Board has determined that waiving bidding for the Vehicles
and approving the purchases from Raymond and Stasek will serve and be in the best
interest of the. Village and its residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD OF
DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1: RECITALS. The Village Board hereby adopts the foregoing recitals
as its findings, as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2: WAIVER OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING. Pursuant to Section 9-16
of the Village Code and the Village's home rule authority, the Village Board waives the
requirement of competitive bidding for the procurement of the Vehicles.

SECTION 3: RATIFICATION OF PURCHASE FROM RAYMOND. The Village
Board hereby ratifies the purchase from Raymond of one 2023 Chevrolet EUV Bolt in an
amount of $37,909.24.
SECTION 4: RATIFICATION OF PURCHASE FROM STASEK. The Village
Board hereby ratifies the purchase from Stasek of one 2023 Chevrolet EUV Bolt in an
amount of $39,704.24.
SECTION 5: AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE CONTRACT. The Mayor and
the Village Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest, on behalf of the
Village, all documents necessary to complete the purchases approved pursuant to Sections 3
and 4 of this Resolution, and the Village Board acknowledges, ratifies, and approves the
prior execution of any such documents.
SECTION 6: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval by the vote of two-thirds of the Trustees.
