AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING AND DECLARING THE
RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON
FEBRUARY 24, 1973, IN AND FOR THE VILLAGE
OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, on December 18, 1972, the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties,
Illinois, did adopt an Ordinance calling a special election to be
held in and for the .said Village of Deerfield on the 24th day of
February, 1973, whereat there would be submitted to the voters of
said Village of Deerfield, the following questions:
1. Shall bonds in the amount of $1,080,000 be
issued by the Village of Deerfield, Lake
and Cook Counties, Illinois, for the pur-
pose of paying the cost of constructing
additions, improvements and extensions to
the existing sewer system of said Village,
and to pay the cost of acquiring land and
constructing storm water retention facil-
ities thereon, said bonds bearing interest
at the rate of not to exceed six per cent
(6%) per annum?
2. Shall bonds in the amount of $3,300,000 be
issued by the Village of Deerfield, Lake
and Cook Counties, Illinois, for the pur-
pose of paying the cost of constructing
additions and improvements to the existing
sewage treatment plant and East Side Pumping
Station, said bonds bearing interest at the
rate of not to exceed six per cent (6%) per
annum?
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the said
Village of Deerfield did cause proper notice to be given.of said
election by publishing a notice thereof in the Deerfield Life, a
newspaper of general circulation within said Village; t e date
of publication of said notice of election being at least twenty
(20) days prior to the date of said election. ?cA copy of the
said Affidavit of Publication of said notice, which Affidavit is on
file with and is a part of the permanent records of the Village of
Deerfield, is attached hereto, and made a part of this Ordinance
by reference and is as follows:

WHEREAS, the Judges of said election were duly qualified and
before entering upon their duties, were duly commissioned as required
by law.
WHEREAS, the returns of said special election have been
duly filed with the Village Clerk within two days following said
election, and thereafter submitted to the President and this Board of
Trustees and they have duly canvassed the returns of the votes cast
on said questions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the Board of Trustees does find that the
ONE: special election held on the 24th day of February,
1973, was duly called and held in all respects as provided by law,
and as provided by the Ordinance calling said election; that ballots
were furnished in sufficient number at all times during said election
and that the ballots used were in all respects as required by law;
that the Judges of said election were duly qualified and commissioned
and did conduct said election as required by law; that the returns
of said election have been filed with the Village Clerk of the Village
of Deerfield and are now before this Board of Trustees and have been
examined by this Board of.Trustees.
SECTION That this Board of Trustees finds from the 'returns

election votes on each of the propositions as follows:
1. Shall bonds in the amount of $1,080,000 be issued by the
Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois,

a majority of the votes cast at said special elec-
tion in each of the election precincts within the
said Village of Deerfield and the aforesaid ques-
tion has been legally approved and carried, and the
President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois, are
authorized to issue bonds of the said Village of
Deerfield in the amount of $1,080,000 for the pur-
pose of paying the cost of constructing additions,
improvements and extensions to the existing sewer
system of said Village, and to pay the cost of
acquiring land and constructing storm water
retention facilities thereon, said bonds bearing
interest at the rate of not to exceed six per cent
(6%) per annum;
That the question to issue bonds of said Village of
Deerfield in the amount of $3,300,000 did receive
