AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A SPECIAL USE
(DEERBROOK 'I' OSCO ADDITTON)
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield
has heretofore held a public hearing on the application of
JOSEPH E. VALENTI to amend an existing special use approved for
certain premises commonly known as the Deerbrook Shopping Center
and hereinafter described, by amending the Plan of Development so
as to authorize the construction of an addition to that portion of
the Shopping Center building leased to and occupied by the
Jewel Companies, Inc., said addition extending 88 feet north of the
Phase 1 expansion building limit line along the east building line
and 143 feet north of the Phase 1 expansion building limit line along
the west building line and containing approximately 13,860 square
feet of floor area to be occupied by the Osco Division of the
Jewel Companies, Inc., which said addition will partially relocate
but will not alter the total buildable area as originally approved;
under and pursuant to the provisions of Sections XIII,D,3,S;
XIII,D,4; XIII,D,5; XXIII,B,2 and XXIII,B,3 of the Zoning Ordinance
of the Village of Deerfield; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was held pursuant to duly published
notice thereof and was in all respects held according to law; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield,
after considering the evidence adduced, made written findings of
fact including express affirmative findings of compliance with the
provisions of Sections XIII,D,5 and XXIII,B,3 of the Village Zoning
Ordinance and recommended that said amendment to the special use
approved for said real estate be approved and authorized subject
to the conditions hereinafter set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the findings and recommendation of the Plan
ONE: Commission are concurred in and adopted as the
findings of the�-President and Board of Trustees and the amendment of
the approved special use of the real estate legally described as
follows:
That part of the North half of Section four (4),
Township forty two (42) North, Range twelve (12)
East of the Third Principal Meridian described
as follows: Commencing on the North line of said
Section four (4) and the center line of the State
Road (Waukegan Road) and running thence West on said
North line seven hundred ninety -three and eight
tenths (793.8) feet; thence Southeasterly parallel
to the Easterly line of the right -of -way of the
Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad
one thousand one hundred seventy four (1,174) feet;
thence East eight hundred thirteen (813) feet; thence
North thirty -two and eight tenths (32.8) feet to
the center of said State Road; Northwesterly along
said center line of State Road one thousand one hundred
fifty four and four tenths (1,154.4) feet to the
place of beginning in Cook County, Illinois.
so as to authorize the construction of an addition to that portion
of the Shopping Center Building leased and occupied by the Jewel
Companies, Inc. in accordance with the Plan marked Exhibit A and
attached hereto and made a part hereof, subject to the conditions
hereinafter set forth, be and the same is hereby approved.
SECTION That the approval and authorization of said

requirement that all use, construction and development shall be in
accordance with Exhibit A hereto and all representations made by
Applicant to the Plan Commission and President and Board of Trustees
and is subject to compliance by Applicant with all other applicable
provisions of the Zoning Ordinance and all other applicable
ordinances of the Village of Deerfield.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
THREE: publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form and to
record a certified copy of this Ordinance in the office of the
Recorder of Deeds of the County in which the real estate hereinabove
described is situated.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
FOUR: effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication, as provided by law.
