The four older Ford Explorers and the Expedition will be removed from service and
replaced with 2017 Ford Explorers. One 2017 Police explorer will not be transferred to
another department and will instead be auctioned.
The 2010 Ford Fusion and the 2011 Ford Escape are included in the vehicle equipment
replacement fund (VERF). The replacement of both of these vehicles has been pushed off
for multiple years, but are now becoming too costly to keep in service. A separate agenda
item will be brought to the Village Board later this year to purchase both replacement
vehicles.
Once declared as surplus property, the Public Works Department will utilize the
Northwest Municipal Conference auto auction house to sell the vehicles.
