AN ORDINANCE AMENDING'CHAPTER 15 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF DEERFIELD OF 1963
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 15.001 of Chapter 15 of the

is hereby further amended by adding the follow-
ing to the Definition of Restaurant contained therein:

A public place shall not be a restaurant within the
meaning of this definition unless in addition to
the foregoing not less than 50 per cent of the
premises are devoted primarily to the regular
preparation and service of meals."
SECTION That Section 15.008 of Chapter 15 of the

is hereby further amended by adding the follow-
"Section 15.008.
Class D. Licenses for the sale at retail of alcoholic
liquor for consumption on the premises where sold,
provided that no such license shall be issued for any
premises situated within any area of the Village
wherein the sale at retail of alcoholic liquor for
consumption on the premises is prohibited by law and
provided further that Class D licenses shall be
issued only to restaurants as herein defined. The
annual fee for a Class D license shall be $2,000.00."
SECTION That Section 15.009 of Chapter 15 of the

is hereby further amended by adding the follow-

There shall be issued in the Village no more than
two Class A licenses; no more than two Class B
licenses; no more than one Class C license and no
more than one Class D license to be in effect at
one-time."
SECTION That Section 15.011 of Chapter 15 of the
FOUR: Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1963,.as amended,
is hereby further amended by striking said
section in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following:

"It shall be unlawful to sell or offer for sale
alcoholic liquor in the original package for
consumption off the premises between the hours
of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. on each day of the week.
It shall be unlawful to sell or offer for sale
alcoholic liquor for consumption on the premises
between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on each
day of the week. It shall be unlawful to keep
open for business or to admit the public to any
premises in or on which alcoholic liquor is sold
at retail during the hours within which the sale
of such alcoholic liquor 'is prohibited provided
that restaurant and club establishments may be
kept open during such hours but no alcoholic
liquor may be sold to or consumed by the public
or the membership during such hours."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to

SECTION This Ordinance shall be in full force and
