AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18
OF THE MUNICIPAL .CODE OF DEERFIELD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE'OF DEERFIELD,.LAKE.AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS,.AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Chapter 18 of the Municipal Code of Deerfield
ONE: of 1963, as amended, be and the same 'is hereby
further amended by adding a new Article V thereto
as follows:
18.501 Application of insecticides.) It shall
be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation
to engage in the business of applying to trees,
shrubs, bushes, grass, foliage, flora, flowers,
and any other forms of vegetation and plant life
located rn °property in the Village of Deerfield
any siabstance or mixture of substances designed
and intended for the purpose of preventing,
destroying, repelling or mitigating any insect,
fungus, weed, or other undesirable form of animal
or plant, without first having,secured a license
therefor.
18.502 Applications for such license shall be
made to the Village Manager.
18.503 The fee for such license shall be Twenty-

Five ($25.00) Dollars per year.
18.504 No license shall be issued unless ti_ appli-
cant therefor shall file a performance bond conditioned
upon the licensee complying.with the provisions of this
article.
18.505 Any person, firm or corporation violating any
provisioncof this article shall be fined not to exceed
Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for each offense;

and a separate offense shall be deemed to have been
committed on each day during or on which a violation
occurs or continues.
18.506 No licensee shall use materials for spraying
containing chemical substances which are persistent
compounds of Chlorinated Hydrocarbons. Such pro-
hibited substances include, but are not limited to,
the following: Aldrin, Chlordane, DDT, Dieldrin,
Endrin, Heptachlor and Lindane.
SECTION That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
TWO: herewith, are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby
repealed.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish
THREE: this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this-Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
FOUR: from and after its passage, approval and publication,
as provided by law.
