AN ORDINANCE GRANTING .A VARIATION FROM
THE PROVISIONS OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, WHITE WAY SIGN COMPANY, on its own behalf and on
behalf of the owner, has petitioned for a variation from the strict provisions
of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield, passed May 4, 1953,
as amended; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to notice duly published as required by statute,
a public hearing on said petition was held and conducted by the .Zoning
Board of .Appeals of the Village of Deerfield; and
WHEREAS, the .Zoning Board of .Appeals has filed with the President
and Board of Trustees its written findings of fact and recommendations:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT
AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD,
LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the findings of fact of the .Zoning Board of
ONE: .Appeals is hereby concurred in and adopted as
the findings of fact of the President and Board
of Trustees.
SECTION That there are practical difficulties and particular
TWO: hardship in the way of carrying out the strict letter
of the provisions of the .Zoning Ordinance of the
Village of Deerfield as applied to the subject property which is legally
described as follows:
THAT part of the North half of Section four (4), Township forty -two
(42) North, Range twelve (12), East of the Third Principal Meridian
described as follows: Commencing on the North line of said- Section
four (4) and the center line of the State Road (Waukegan Road) and
running thence West on said North line seven hundred ninety three
and eight tenths (79.3.8) feet; thence South Easterly parallel to the
Easterly line of the right -of -way of the Chica& Milwaukee .St. Paul
and Pacific Railroad one thousand one hundred seventy four (1174)
feet; thence East eight hundred thirteen -'(813) feet; thence North
thirty two and eight tenths (32.8) feet to the center of said .State
Road; North Westerly along said center line of State Road one
thousand one hundred fifty four and four tenths (1154.4) feet to the

place of beginning, which property is commonly known as the
Deerbrook Shopping Center.
SECTION That a variation from the strict provisions of
THREE: Section XVII, 3-3-d, Section XVII, B -3-e,
and Section XVII, B -1 -b of the :toning Ordinance
of the Village of Deerfield, passed May 4, 19j1 3, as amended, with
respect to the property hereinabove described, is hereby granted so as
to authorize and permit the construction and erection of a sign pursuant
to and in accordance with the plans attached hereto and made a part
hereof, provided that said sign shall be erected on the :South side of
the entrance driveway rather than on the North side as depicted and
shown on the attached plans.
SECTION That the variation hereby granted is subject to the
FO UR: condition that there be compliance by the petitioner
with all other applicable ordinances of the Village.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
.FIVE: effect from and after its passage and approval,
as provided by law.
