AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 20.105(c)l, 20.320,
20.322, AND 20.602 OF CHAPTER 20 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF DEERFIELD, ILLINOIS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 20.105(c)l of Chgter 20 of the Municipal
ONE: Code of Deerfield of 1963) as amended, is hereby fur-
ther amended by striking said subsection in its entirety
and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
1. Vehicular traffic facing the signal must stop before
entering the nearest crosswalk at an intersection or at
such other point as may be indicated by a clearly visible
line, or if none, before entering the intersection, and
shall remain standing until the green indication is shown
unless otherwise directed by a sign or lighted green arrow.
SECTION That Section 20.320 of Chapter 20 of the Municipal
TWO: Code of Deerfield of 1963, as amended, is hereby
further amended by substituting the number "2" in
lieu of the number "311 in the first sentence of said section.
SECTION That Section 20.322 of Chapter 20 of the Municipal
THREE: Code of Deerfield of 1963, as amended, is hereby fur-
ther amended by striking said section in its entirety
and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
20.322 Reckless and Negligent Driving.)
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any
vehicle in the Village with a wilful or wanton disregard
for the safety of persons or property.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any
vehicle in the Village negligently or without due caution
in a manner so as to endanger or be likely to endanger any
person or property.
SECTION That Section 20.602 of Chapter 20 of the Municipal
FOUR: Code of Deerfield of 1963, as amended, is hereby fur-
ther amended by striking said section in its entirety
and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
20.602
(a) It shall be unlawful for a person who is under the
influence of intoxicating liquors to drive or be in actual
physical control of any vehicle within the Village.
(b) It shall be unlawful for a person who is a habitual
user of or under the influence of any narcotic drug or who
is under the influence of any other drug to a degree which
renders him incapable of safely driving a vehicle, to drive
or be in actual physical control of any vehicle within the
Village. The fact that a person charged with a violation
of this subsection (b) is or has been entitled to use such
drug under the laws of the State of Illinois does not con-
stitute a defense against any charge of violation of this
subsection (b).
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict

repealed.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to-publish
