AN ORDINANCE FOR THE CONDEMNATION OF
LAND FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND
MAINTENANCE OF A PLAYGROUND
OR RECREATION CENTER
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That it is necessary and in the best interest of
ONE: the Villagethat the Village acquire title to and
possession of the following described real property,
which said real property is necessary, required and needed for
the establishment and maintenance of a playground or recreational
center, and for other municipal and public purposes; to -wit:
Parcel 1: That part of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of
Section 33, Township 43 North, Range 12, East of the Third
Principal Meridian lying.Southwesterly of the Southwesterly
line of the right -of -way of the Chicago, Milwaukee and St.
Paul Railway Company;
Parcel 2: The Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of the Southeast
Quarter (SE 1/4) of Section 32, Township 43 North, Range
12, East of the Third Principal Meridian (excepting there-
from the South 500 :feet);
Parcel 3: The Southeast Quarter (SE 1/4) of the Southeast
Quarter (SE 1/4) of Section 32, Township 43 North, Range
12, East of the Third Principal Meridian (except the Westerly
400 feet thereof and except that part lying North of the
center line of ditch and West of the East 586.9 feet, and
except the right -of -way of a 25 -foot ditch running South-
easterly through said tract);
Parcel 4: The Westerly 400 feet of the Southeast Quarter
(SE 1/4) of the Southeast Quarter (SE 1/4) of Section 32,
Township 43 North, RAnge 12, East of the Third Principal
Meridian; all in Lake County, Illinois.

SECTION That Norris W. Stilphen, Village Manager, and
TWO: Richard V. Houpt, Village Attorney, be and they
are hereby authorized, empowered, and directed
for and on behalf of the Village to negotiate with the owner or
owners of the real estate hereinabove described for the purchase
thereof by the Village.
SECTION That in the event that the said Village Manager
THREE: and Village Attorney are unable to agree with
the owner or owners of said real estate upon
the compensation to be paid therefor, then title to and possession
of said real estate shall be acquired by the Village, and Richard
V. Houpt, as attorney for the Village, is hereby authorized, em-
powered and directed to institute proceedings in any court of
competent jurisdiction to acquire title to and possession of
said real estate for the Village in accordance with the eminent
domain laws of the State of Illinois.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
FOUR: from and after its passage and approval as provided
by law.
