AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 22 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE.
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
Whereas, Three Copies of the National Building Code
recommended by the American Insurance Association, successor to
the National Board of Fire Underwriters, have been on file with
the Village Clerk for a period in excess of 15 days prior to the
date of adoption of the ordinance incorporating said Code by
reference,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION The Munidpal Code of Deerfield of 1963, as
ONE: amended, be and is hereby further amended by
deleting Section 22.102 in its entirety and
inserting in plaae therof the following:
22.102 National Building Code - The erection, repair
or alteration of all structures not regulated
by the other provisions of this Chapter shall
be in compliance with the provisions of the
1967 Edition of the National Building Code
recommended by the American Insurance Asso-
ciation, successor to the National Board of Fire
Underwriters, which provisions are hereby
adopted by reference. Such adoption shall
include only the provisions relating to the
construction, alteration or repair work and not
to penalties or other provisions.
SECTION The Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1963, as
TWO: amended, be and is hereby further amended by
deleting Section 22.804 in its entirety and
inserting therein the following:
22.804 Fees - The fee for checking and inspection
of plan §, inspedtions and tests for all
electrical wiring and apparatus shall be as
follows:
Base charge for light wiring
and small motors . . . . . . . . $3.00
Switches per outlet . . . . . . . .15
Fixtures per outlet . . . . . . . .15
Plug receptacles per outlet . . . .15
Motors (1/2 H.P. or over -
$3.00 plus $0.15 per H.P. 3.15

Lighting fixtures $2.00 base

charge and $0.15 per outlet

Further provided that the minimum
charge shall be Four Dollars ($4.00)
SECTION The Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1963,
THREE: as amended, be and is hereby further
amended by deleting in its entirety
Section 22.602 and inserting therein
the following:
22.602 Fee - For a permit for the removal of a
building or structure from one lot to
another, the fee shall be at the rate
of $1.00 per thousand dollars of the
estimated value of the building or
structure in its completed condition
after removal. For a permit for the
removal of a building or structure to
a new.location within the same lot,
the fee shall be at the rate of $4.00
per thousand dollars of the estimated
cost of moving, of new foundations and
of work necessary to put the building
or structure in usable condition in
its new location.

SECTION The Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1963,
FOUR: as amended, be and is hereby further
amended by adding the following:
22.602A Demolition of Buildings - For a permit
for the demolition of a building or
structure,.the fee shall be at the rate
of $10.00 for each ten feet or fraction
thereof in the height of such building
or structure, plus one per cent additional
for each foot of street frontage of the
building or structure in excess of fifty
feet. In case of abandonment or discon-
tinuance, the cost of work performed
under a permit may be estimated, an
adjustment of the fee made and the portion
of the fee for uncompleted work returned
to the permit holder, provided that no
refund of a prescribed minimum fee shall
be made. If such discontinuance is due
to revocation of a permit, a similar
adjustment and return may be made, pro-
vided that no refund shall be made until
all penalties incurred or imposed by due
authority have been collected. After
such a refund has been made, no work
shall be resumed until a new application
has been made and a new permit has been
issued.
The term "estimated cost" as used in
this Section means the reasonable value
of all services, labor, materials, and
use of scaffolding and other appliances
or devices entering into and necessary
to the prosecution and completion of the
work ready for occupancy; provided that
the cost of excavation or grading, and
of painting, decorating or other work
that is merely for embellishment or not
necessary for the safe and lawful use of
the building or structure is not deemed
a part of such estimated cost.
SECTION That all ordinances and parts of ordinances
FIVE: in conflict herewith are, to the extent of
such conflict, hereby repealed.

SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed

form.
