[ ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 24 ]
[ OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF DEERFIELD ]
WHEREAS, in order to promote the public health, and in fur-
therance of its program to establish complete and separate systems
of storm and sanitary sewers within the Village of Deerfield, the
Village has undertaken the construction of a storm sewer in the
right -of -way of Deerfield Road from a point 10 feet East of the
center line of Waukegan Road to a point 900 feet West thereof,
and the right -of -way of Waukegan Road from a point 19 feet South
of the center line of Longfellow Avenue North to a point 320 feet
North of the center line of Deerfield Road; and
WHEREAS, said proposed storm sewer will provide a means of
discharging and disposing of storm water drained from property
served by said sewer and will permit the conversion of the existing
sewer in said street rights -of -way from a combination storm and
sanitary sewer to an exclusively sanitary sewer; and
WHEREAS, the effectiveness of said proposed separate storm and
sanitary sewers will require the disconnection from the existing
combination sewer of all private sewers discharging storm water
therein and the reconnection of such private sewers to the new
public storm sewer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLI-
NOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Article IV of Chapter 24 of the Municipal Code
ONE: of Deerfield of 1963, as amended, be and the same
is hereby further amended by adding a new Section
24.410 to the end thereof as follows:

"24.410 The owners of all properties fronting on
Deerfield Road from a point 10 feet East of the center line
of Waukegan Road to a point 900 feet West thereof, and the
owners of all properties fronting on Waukegan Road from a
point 19 feet South of the center line of Longfellow Avenue
North to a point 320 feet North of the center line of Deer-
field Road, and which properties are presently served by
sewers and drains connected to the existing combination
sewer in the rights -of -way of said streets and discharge
therein sanitary sewage and /or storm water, shall, at their
sole expense, upon the completion of or during the course
of the construction of a separate storm sewer in the rights -
of -way of all said streets, disconnect from the existing
combination sewer all sewers, pipes, drains, catch basins
and cisterns, which collect and discharge storm water from
such owners' properties and connect such facilities directly
with the separate storm sewer, in accordance with the.pro-
visions of this Code, within ninety (90) daysafter date of
official notice from the Village to do so.
"Prior to the disconnection of any sewers, pipes and
drains, and reconnection thereof to said storm sewer as pro-
vided in the preceding paragraph, said owner shall first
obtain a permit therefor, which permit shall be issued by
the Village without charge upon the approval by the Village
Engineer of said owners' plans and specifications for such
disconnection and reconnection. The Village Engineer's ap-
proval of such plans and specifications shall be based on
accepted engineering practices and applicable ordinances of
the Village; provided further that in the event application
is made for said permit and such owner is prepared to proceed
with said disconnection and reconnection prior to the com-
pletion of the construction and installation of said storm
sewer, and in accordance with a schedule of construction as
established by the Village Engineer, the connection and in-
spection fees provided for in Section 24.105.B. shall be
waived."
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con -

hereby repealed.

SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
