WHEREAS, information has been received that it is the intention of the
Division of Highways of the State of Illinois to remove all Village name signs
from expressway guide signs; and
WHEREAS, this act will, in the opinion of this Board, seriously reduce
the ability of drivers in finding the necessary turnoffs; and
WHEREAS, Edens Expressway, in particular, serves primarily as a Chicago
metropolitan traffic artery for commuting and visiting of friends, rather
than as an interstate route.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois, do hereby
indicate their opposition to the proposed change in policy in signs for express
ways; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolution be sent
to the Division of Highways of the State of Illinois.
