WHEREAS Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961, as amended,
provide for the making of grants by the Housing and Home Finance
Adminiagrddor to -Sta oa and local public bodiee to assial them in the
acgtdoRion and development of permanent interests in land for opera -space
un o where auch assistance is needed for carrying out a unified or officially
cooz-dina$ed program for the provision and dcevalopme xt of open -apace
land &a par8 of the comprehensively planned developmei t of the urban
area; and
WHEREAS the ViUQgs of Deerfield, Illinois (herein sometimes
referred to Sao "ApplicassVI) desires to acquire and derelop fee simple
tWe to certain land known &a:
PARCEL 1. That ,part of the Southwest quarter (STS 1/4) of
Section 33, Township 43 North, Range 12, East
of the Third Principal Meridian lying Southwesterly
of the Southwesterly line of the right of way of the
Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway Company,
PARCEL 2, The Northeast quarter (NE 1/4) of the Southeast
quarter (SE 1/4) of Section 32, Township 43 North,
Range 12, East of the Third Principal Meridian
(excepting therefrom the South 500 feet).
PARCEL 3m The Southeast quarter (SE 1/4) of the Southeast
quarter (SE 1/4) of Section 32, Township 43 North,
Range 12, East of the Third Principal Meridian
(erscept the Westerly 400 feet thereof and except that
part lying North of the cerAer line of ditch and West
of the East 586.9 feet and except the right of way of
a 25 foot ditch running Southeasterly through said
tract.
PARCEL 4. The Westerly 400 feet of the Southeast quazter (SE 1/4)
of the Southeast quarter (SE 1/4) of Section 32, Town- -
ship 43 North, Range 12, East of the Third Principal
Meridian, all in Lake County, Illinois
which bard is to be held and used for permanent open -apace land for
recreation, both active and passive; and
WHEREAS Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the regu-
latione of the Housing and Home Finance agency effectuating that Title,
provide that no person shall be discriminated against because of race, color,
or national origin in the use of the land acquired and /or developed; and

WHEREAS 9 is recognized that the congraact for Federal grant
will impose certain obhga$tions and responsibilkiee upon the ApplicarA
and will require among ceher thingtar (1 ) assurances that families and
individua & displaced as a resin of the open -spaoe lend project will be
relocated Into decen$, safe, and sankaary housing, (2J complaiaance with
Federal labor standards, and (3) compliance wath Federal requiremords rela-
ting to equal emplogment opportunity; and
WHEREAS A is oa timated that the cost of acquiring said interest
will be $1,303,5,25-00:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR
AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD,
ILLINOIS:
1. That an application be made to the Housing and Home Finance
Agency for a gram in an amount authorised by Tile V%% of the Housing
Acd of 19618 as amended, which amount is prosily estimated to be

from other funds available to aT.
2. That the Mayor is he'reby authorised and dirocted to
execute and to file such pppllcaation ewft the Ho and Dome Finance
Agenoyg to provide aaddRionaal inilormaaUon and to furnish amh documwge
&z may be required by caaid Agency, to exectie cuch cox racrte as are
required by said Agency, and to act as the auhorised cor pondent
of the Applicaad.
3. That the proposed a cquisNon and development is in accordance
wah plane for the alloS444 d for open-apace uses, and that,
should said grant be C ,A a pplicaant swill acquire, develop, and
ret8in said land for the use designated in said application and approved
by the Housing and Home Finance Agency.
4. That the Un&ed ;Rates of America and the Housing and Home
Finance Administrator be, and they are hereby, assured of full com-
pliance by the Applicant with regulations of the Housing and Home Finance
Agency etatua Ling TRla VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
